Το CIVIS είναι ένα δίκτυο δημόσιων ευρωπαϊκών Πανεπιστημίων με στόχο τη δημιουργία ενός Ευρωπαϊκού Πανεπιστημίου. Τα οκτώ Πανεπιστήμια που αποτελούν τα μέλη του δικτύου αυτού είναι:  Το Πανεπιστήμιο Aix - Marseille (Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, Γαλλία), το Εθνικό και Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών (Αθήνα, Ελλάδα) το Ελεύθερο Πανεπιστήμιο των Βρυξελλών, Université Libre de Bruxelles (Βρυξέλλες, Βέλγιο), το Πανεπιστήμιο του Βουκουρεστίου, Universitatea din București (Βουκουρέστι, Ρουμανία), το Αυτόνομο Πανεπιστήμιο της Μαδρίτης, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Μαδρίτη, Ισπανία), το Sapienza Università di Roma (Ρώμη, Ιταλία), το Πανεπιστήμιο της Στοκχόλμης, Stockholms Universitet (Στοκχόλμη, Σουηδία) και το Eberhard -Karls- Universität Tübingen (Γερμανία).

We, Aix Marseille Université (France), National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece),University of Bucharest (Romania), Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (Spain), Sapienza Università di Roma (Italia), Stockholms Universitet (Sweden), Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen (Germany) join forces to build a European Academic Alliance called "CIVIS". This alliance, created under the statute of a European University meeting the criteria of the Erasmus + call of the European Commission, will bring together some 384,000 students and 55,000 staff members.
